Constructed with a premium mix of suede, leather and canvas, Chitose Abe’s newly-surfaced creation maintains a dual-layered aesthetic that’s trickled down to some of the Swoosh’s inline solo efforts. Stacked nylon tongues feature co-branding, as does the pull tab accompanied upper heel panel. Though clad in stealthy arrangements, profile swooshes and foam midsoles make some of the collaboration’s boldest statements as they deliver varying textures, shades of “Black” and drive the layered look “home.” Arguably, however, the spotlight is stolen by the “Light Gum Brown” finish that covers the waffle-patterned outsole underfoot, a direct nod to Nike Running’s origins. As with previous drops, the next sacai VaporWaffle arrives in a custom shoe box and with additional sets of laces.
